Alina Khalitova in Bath

Conceptual artist Alina Khalitova recently immigrated from Russia because of her anti-war position. The completion of one stage in her life, followed by immigration, led her to see and analyse her art practices more clearly.

At the exhibition Way to Light , we have selected works most indicative of the direction Alina has taken to develop her thinking in recent years. She explores four main areas in her art: space, light, visual perception and context.

Alina has an art historian background and considers everything in a socio-cultural context; therefore, her works are almost always site-specific. The artist notes she likes the intimacy of meeting her work with viewers when it is located in an unexpected place. She believes that this provides an opportunity for elitism to be removed from the exhibition space where the work is usually displayed.

Since her first works, Alina realised that she was fascinated by light, its nature and the effects it produces. Initially, she performed photosensitive experiments with analogue photography, trying to document the moment when light, as a substance, physically presents itself. As she pursued this, her attention shifted towards visual perception.

She explored what happens inside the image frames and how parameters, such …

How does a polaroid camera work?

The development of analogue photographs usually requires film reels, a darkroom and photosensitive chemicals. In an analogue camera, the film reacts to the lighting and forms a negative, a photograph in which the colours are complementary to the original. Red becomes cyan, green becomes magenta, and blue becomes yellow. In a darkroom, the negative is transferred to photographic paper containing silver halides, which react to the exposure and form the final photograph. The chemicals in the photo paper are extremely sensitive to light. Therefore, development must take place in the dark.

A Polaroid camera is a fast-acting darkroom, which only lets in …

Pictures is a complex art which needs plenty of attention, and expertise of considering past the boundaries of regular human being. The more extreme the angle (ie the additional away it is from eye left), the more symbolic and heavily-loaded the shot. Lengthy photographs assist us to take images that establish a person’s position within the world. Excessive long shots are usually executed in a excessive angle so the viewer can look down upon a setting or scene. You must at all times preserve experimenting and searching for a unique and fascinating angle on your photos.

Capturing from the hip may be challenging at first because it’s a must to get used to composing your shot whereas the iPhone is under your eye stage. As quickly as you put that digicam to your eye folks clam up, cease doing whatever it is that you needed to photograph, or in some instances grow to be hostile. For this reason, when taking full length portraits of a standing topic, the fundamental rule of …

Finding Inspiration In Images

Sea life photography may be taken with all types of gear, from extension tubes to extensive angle lenses. Because we don’t normally understand the horizontal aircraft of the environment as slanted even once we pitch our heads sideways, a tilted camera angle tends to create distinctive sensations of power, disorientation, imbalance, transition, hazard, unsettledness, instability, rigidity, nervousness, alienation, confusion, drunkenness, insanity, or violence.

Everytime you’re making an attempt to pick the perfect angle for a photo, you should at all times take into consideration balancing the composition, and the angle that you just shoot from makes an enormous difference for the horizontal and vertical stability of the photo. Strive different digicam angles if you’re still studying this and are unsure of which digicam angle to make use of.

As we speak, we’re looking at a lot of these typical cinematic camera pictures and angles to find out how they could possibly be included into still photography. Shut-ups could also be shot with macro lenses as a result of how shut they are to a topic. A impartial shot or eye-stage (EL) shot has little to no psychological effect on the viewer. When describing different cinematic photographs, completely different phrases are …
